Throughout the year W&F employees collect food for food banks, raise extra money outside the WF Fund for causes close to their hearts, volunteer their time to make things for those in need, and even give their own blood. Teams gather together to create fundraisers and many employees have even joined local boards of charities in the community.
Our most fun event each year that gives back to the community since 2004 is the annual “Toys for Happiness” Bike Race. Employees purchase and “race” bikes, trikes, and scooters before donating them to local children through the United Way (over 80 were donated in 2011). Employees also draw names and buy a toy that depicts another employee’s personality; these gifts also go to the United Way.
