Tina Cook joined our end of the month meeting to tell us about the Miracle League and the power of volunteering and to thank us for helping build the Miracle Park. She plays on the Major League baseball team (adult league) each Saturday morning for the spring and fall seasons. This team gives her the opportunity to be a part of a team! Each player on both teams gets to hit and run the bases each of the 2 innings played. Each player has a buddy with them to encourage them, push them, calm nerves, and more. These buddies (11 and older) are crucial to the league, and with 146 players this year they need a LOT of buddies!
Tina was selected this year to play in the All-Star game in Florida. Each team picks a player to represent them each year. Tina proudly represented Rock Hill. At 39 years old she has only been able to play baseball the past 3 years, she is grateful for a team she can play with now!
